Application updatesOn March 26, we will release our final admission decisions for the autumn 2021 semester. Students may receive one of three decisions:
Admit: Congratulations, they have been admitted to Ohio State! A notice about specific college enrollment and next steps is on the way.
Options for Ohio Residents: While they were not admitted to the Columbus campus, they have a great alternative — to begin their degree at one of Ohio State’s regional campuses! (If students didn't choose an alternate campus when they applied, they'll be automatically admitted to one.)
Denial for Nonresidents: The student has not been selected for admission. They may apply again later as a transfer student.
Waitlist: The student was eligible for admission, but due to the competitiveness of the pool, we were not able to offer autumn semester admission. If offered the waitlist option, students may choose to have their name placed on our waitlist. They’ll need to make that choice by May 1; final decisions will be made by June 1. |
Honors, Scholars and Eminence invitations
-
The last invitations to join Honors were sent March 12 to students who applied early action. On March 26, we'll invite a small number of students who applied after that deadline.
-
Invitations for individual Scholars programs are going out every two weeks from March 19 through April 20.
-
The selection process for Eminence Fellows will conclude by March 26.
|
Morrill Scholarship Program selectionSelection continues for MSP recipients. To date, 553 students have been notified of their scholarship, and the awards will be finalized by April 2. This includes scholarship notifications to students who will receive the Distinction Awards. |
Financial aid notificationsDuring the week of March 1, financial aid notifications were emailed (via BuckeyeMail) to students who sent their FAFSA to Ohio State. These notifications included any university merit scholarships already awarded, plus any need-based financial assistance for which a student may qualify.
If students need help understanding their award, we encourage them to start with this "how to read your notification" video. They can also contact Buckeye Link at 614-292-3980 for assistance.
Students who still need to send in their verification paperwork are encouraged to do so to finalize their financial aid. |
Return to in-person campus toursWe are offering a VERY limited number of in-person campus tours for admitted students in April. Safety guidelines require us to limit groups to three students (and one guest each), and we are registering admitted students on a first-come, first-served basis.
When tour offerings fill, we will not be able to accommodate any additional requests or walk-in visitors.
For admitted students who are not able to schedule a guided tour, we recommend: |
Virtual engagementAttending online events remains the best way for students to learn about Ohio State. Plus, we're now offering opportunities to sign up to chat with a current Buckeye! |
Autumn 2021 campus reactivation planUniversity President Kristina Johnson recently announced preparations for a significant reactivation of campus life for fall semester, including:
-
In-person teaching, learning and student activities
-
Students in the residence halls
-
In-person campus services and events
The well-being of our university community will always be our No. 1 priority, so any decisions made for the coming year will be grounded in the expertise of our public health and medical leaders and the latest data and science. With improving COVID-19 trends, increasing access to vaccines and continued vigilance in practicing safe public health measures, we are looking forward to seeing more Buckeyes on our campuses in the fall! |
